Yale Study Seeks Best Way to Propagandize COVID Vaccine
A new Yale University study seeks to find the most effective way to propagandize the forthcoming COVID-19 vaccine using logical fallacies, similar to ones we’ve documented in the ongoing global vaccine discussion.
The study will apply one of 15 different campaigns to people to see if it is effective in getting them to take the vaccine. The campaigns include titles like “Personal freedom message” or “Community interest message” and are all but the baseline are logical fallacies.
Most of the methods utilize psychological tricks such as guilt or shame to trick people into getting the vaccine.
As we’ve seen in the broader vaccine debate, logical fallacies can be particularly effective in bullying people into compliance. We shall see if that is the case for this especially rushed vaccine.
